In 2023, the Physical Activity for people with Chronic Conditions (PACC) initiative commissioned a project to develop a nationally agreed standardisation education and accreditation framework for exercise professionals working with people with long-term conditions.
This project was enabled by funding received from the Dormant Accounts Innovation Fund, via Sport Ireland; the HSE and County Carlow Sports Partnership. A research team from South East Technological University (SETU), under the leadership of Prof. Michael Harrison, was awarded the tender to develop this framework. REPs Ireland and Ireland Active were part of the steering group guiding this important project.
The framework document will be launched on 7th February (11.00 am). Registration for the webinar is now open at the following link: Webinar Registration – Zoom
A panel discussion will be a central part of the event, focusing particularly on critical next steps to implement, manage and govern the framework.
